The Enigma of Emotions
In this series, I wish to present the sense of distress and sadness through anonymity. I want to depict human emotion as an enigma. I present my subjects with their appearance cloaked in different fabrics merging the figure and background and making the series both abstract and ambiguous. This series tries to show how experiences that may have receded from our memories but are still present in our feelings, even though these feelings may not be apparent to others. I drew inspiration for this from the Islamic burka, Japanese Bunraku puppet theatre and from the paintings of René Magritte.
